Anambra State Government has started shutting down hotels operating illegally in the state to rid Anambra of any form of criminality.
Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji who disclosed this after inspecting Golden Point Hotel at Ogwugwu Umueze,Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area demolished by the state government being used for criminal activities.
The Commissioner further said that the facility operated illegally as it was not registered with the state government and called on all hotel owners that have not registered their facility with government to do so as any hospitality industry seen operating illegally will be shut down.
Earlier on arrival, the Commissioner and his team caught some people carrying properties from the facility that has been impounded by government and stopped them and the Commissioner warned people to desist from taking properties from any facility impounded by the state government as anybody caught in the act will be punished in accordance with the law.
