In a significant stride towards fostering youth empowerment and economic growth in Anambra state, one thousand youths in the state are slated for free training in various vocations.
The training is organized by graduates of the first phase of the state government’s “1Youth, 2Skills” Initiative who organized themselves under the auspices of the Solution Youthpreneur Support Group, SYPSG.
The event, attended by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, is a pivotal part of his broader youth agenda which seeks to unlock the potential of young people and promote entrepreneurship in the state.
The ceremony, hosted at the International Convention Centre, Awka, brought together various stakeholders includingChairman of the State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, youth leaders, educators, and community advocates.
Governor Soludo highlighted the importance of investing in the youth as a cornerstone for sustainable development in the society and said the initiative is not just about skills acquisition; but about building a future where Anambra youths can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
He thanked various youth stakeholders for standing as one solid team for the good of Anambra youths, adding that the programme has proven to become a fundamental game-changer.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mbah said the programme is the third pillar of the Solution agenda and for the first time, youths that have been empowered are visible.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of SYPSG, and Managing Director of Anambra Housing Development Corporation, Mr. Chike Anyaonu and the Co-ordinator of SYPSG, Mr. Chinedu Ofojebe revealed that the Governor prioritizes the youth agenda as he promised in his manifesto.
