Some citizens of Anambra State have urged the state police command to re-arrest the two suspected kidnappers and killers of the late Honourable Justice Azuka, who recently escaped from its custody, saying that failure to do so will further erode public confidence in them.

Speaking to ABS in Awka, the immediate past Vice President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, described the escape as an act of sabotage against Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s security efforts and a serious breach of public trust in the Nigerian Police Force.

In his reaction, Chief Obi Ochije-Modilim who criticized the police for their gross incompetence and unprofessionalism in handling the case, alleged that the escape might have been planned by enemies of the state and wondered why the criminals were left unrestrained.

However, all efforts to get across to the Police proved abortive.
