Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law to establish Anambra State Indigenous Traditional Medicine Practices Regulatory Agency and other related matters.

 

The bill, which was passed during plenary session following legislative scrutiny at the Committee of the Whole, seeks to regulate and promote indigenous traditional medicine practices in the state.

 

It also aims to provide a legal framework for traditional medicine practitioners, ensure quality control and integrate traditional healing methods into the state’s healthcare system.

 

Speaking on the passage of the bill, the Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, emphasized the importance of traditional medicine in healthcare delivery.
