Umudunu clan, Agbiligba village Nanka, the ancestral home of the Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka, played host to dignitaries who witnessed the traditional wedding ceremony between Dr. Chioma Akabuike and Mr. Chukwuebuka Azolo who is the son of a renowned business mogul, Chief Raphael Azolo, the owner of Radopin supermarket and also a native of Umudala village Nanka, in Orumba North Local Government Area.
The event attracted many dignitaries from all walks of life including, the Secretary to the Anambra State Government Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Sir Chinedu Nwoye, the Deputy Speaker, Anambra state House of Assembly, Honourable Chukwuma Okoye, the member representing Anambra East Local Government Area at the state House of Assembly, Honourable Obi Nweke, the Rector Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr Chioma Awuzie, the Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, his Aguleri counterpart, Igwe Michael Idigo, Anambra State Commissioners for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, his Works counterpart, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma, that of Education counterpart, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, staff and management of COOU Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, former Head of Service, Mr. Harry Udu, Principal Secretary to former Governor Willie Obiano, Sir Willi Nwokoye among numerous other dignitaries.
Speaking after performing the traditional ritual of handing over a cup of palm wine to his daughter, Chioma with which she located her husband amidst cheers from the guests and spectators, Dr Akabuike and his wife Nkiru, expressed gratitude to God that they are alive to perform the all-important duty and the wish of every parent, praying God to bless their union with fruitfulness and everything good life can offer.
The couple Mr. Ebuka Asolo and Chioma, appreciated those who came to felicitate with them in their time of joy, promising to stand by each other in thick and thin.
