The state government has assured of its readiness to partner with the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, NLRC, to increase the revenue profile of the state.

Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C Don Adinuba, stated this when the group from NLRC paid him a Courtesy Visit in his office at Jerome Udoji secretariat Awka.

NLRC is a regulatory agency of the federal government with the responsibility of regulating Lottery operations in the Country, making Lottery a good source of income generation for investors, government and stakeholders.

 

The group visited the Information Commissioner to register their presence in the state and to intimate him on the running of the agency.

 

Speaking during the visit, the Coordinator of the South East region of NLRC, Mrs Dame Ononuju, commended the state for a level playing ground instituted, stating that the Commission is concerned with bringing sanity to the system with the establishment of standard regulatory framework.

 

She solicited the state’s partnership, by creating awareness on the potentials of Lottery and the need for the people to invest in the industry for the development of state economy.

 

Welcoming the group to the state, Mr. Adinuba emphasized that the state government is committed to investing into ideals that will boost the state’s economy as well as improve the living standard of the people in a legitimate manner.

 

He recounted the several achievements of the state, and enjoined them to experience the peace and tranquility that exist in Anambra.

 

In their various remarks, Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Wealth Creation, Dr Christian Madubuko and the Director of ANSIPPA, Mr. Jide Ikeakor, both acknowledged that Anambra is the market hub in West Africa as the state has continuously open its doors for new innovations that will empower the people.

The Zonal Head, Regulatory and Monitoring of the Commission, Mr. Ramsey Nwafor, gave the vote of thanks.
