The Transition Committee Chairman‚ Awka South Local Government Area (LGA), Mr Leo Nwuba, has called on the people to take proper care of health equipment and facilities within their areas.
Mr Nwuba made the call at the Council Secretariat, Awka during the healthy living sensitisation tour of the area by the Anambra State team in collaboration with UNICEF.
He noted that Governor Willie Obiano provided ambulances, specially designed to get to the grassroots in order to give people easy access to Health Facilities, adding that in case of any emergency, the nearest ambulance is expected to get there and transport casualties to the nearest medical centres
The LG boss commended the team for enlightening the people on hygiene practices that would improve their life styles, and assured that Awka South would always support activities of UNICEF.
The team, led by Mrs Chineze George-Ileka of UNICEF was made up of officials from the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Health, Civil Society Organisations, CSOs, and National Orientation Agency, NOA.
The team educated the people on healthcare services and proper hygiene habits for sustainable healthy life style.
