A Canadian bisexual porn actor named Luka Magnotta has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder for killing and dismembering his lover in 2012.
Magnotta’s defence that mental illness meant he was not responsible was totally rejected by Montreal jurors
Magnotta, now 32, had earlier admitted killing 33-year-old student Jun Lin before his body parts were posted to political parties and schools.
Magnotta was later arrested in a cybercafe in Berlin, Germany but before his arrest, French police said he had flown to Paris from Montreal.
Investigators have said a video posted online, in which a man apparently uses an ice pick to kill another man, is believed to show Jun Lin’s murder.
He was also convicted on four related charges of criminally harassing Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other members of parliament, mailing obscene and indecent material, committing an indignity to a body, and publishing obscene materials.
