The 22 year old beauty queen of South Africa, Rolene Strauss was crowned 2914 Miss world pageant at the competitions grand finale at the Excel London Auditorium
Strauss, the daughter of a doctor and nurse is a fourth year medical student who pur her studies on hold for the beauty contest.
Miss Hungary Edna Kulcsar was named runner up, while Miss United States Elizabeth Safrit came third in the pageant.
