Ndi Anambra from various walks of life as well as eminent personalities from within and outside the State at the weekend converged on Aguleri in Anambra East Council Area, and the country home of Governor Willie Obiano to celebrate the birthday of his wife Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano.
The event was heralded with a Eucharistic mass .
In a homily, the founder of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma, who spoke on the theme “Created to walk in Dominion” commended Chief
Mrs Obiano for her outstanding performance in the state through her
Caring Family Enhancement Initiative CAFE, projects.
Reverend Father Obimma, who noted that a successful marriage must have
Christ as the foundation described the celebrant as a functional and
indefatigable leader who always serve God and humanity, urging the people to emulate her lifestyle.
In her speech, the celebrant , Chief Mrs. Obiano who appreciated God for
adding another year to her life, said she is committed to further support the needy, indigents, and less privileged widows and to continue to put
smiles on the faces of Ndi Anambra.
While expressing joy over the celebration Chief Mrs. Obiano encouraged affluent Nigerians to use their wealth in helping the poor .
Also speaking, Governor Obiano said that his wife has been a blessing to his family and prayed God to continue to bless her and their marriage stating that she is a great gift to Ndi Anambra.
Earlier in an opening remark, the Commissioner for Basic Education,
Professor Kate Omenugha, extolled the governor’s wife for her doggedness and steering quality towards the development of the state, urging her to sustain it.
In their separate good will messages, the Managing Director Awka
Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Venerable Amaechi
Okwuosa, the member Representing Idemmili South Constituency at the
State House of Assembly Barrister Chuka Ezewune and his Njikoka one
counterpart, Mr. Timothy Ifedioramma, lauded her for recording indelible mark in the state, noting that the joy of indigent widows in Anambra has continued to increase since she started building free houses for indigent widows and caring for the poor.
Others present at the event were, the Chief of Staff to the State
Government, Mr. Primus Odili, The ABS Managing Director and Chief
Executive Officer, Nze Uche Nworah, the Commissioner for Transport,
Mr. Uchenna Okafor, among others.
The event was capped with cutting of the birthday cake, presentation of gifts from family, friends and well wishers.
