Christians were given the mandate to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ
to expand God’s kingdom on earth.

In preaching the gospel, across all frontiers, many Churches send out
their Priests as Missionaries, to other Countries especially developing ones.

Correspondent Ekwi Ajide who tells the story of one of such Missionaries recalls that historically Christianity was brought to this part of the world by the Western Missionaries.

However a century after the reverse appeared to be the case as Missionaries are now being exported from the African Continent to Europe and other Western countries .

So, what has the experiences been like?

According to an Anambra born Priest resident in Italy, the Archdiocese
of L’aquia, Reverend Father Jude Onuchukwu, doing the work of a clergy
abroad has its challenges of language and cultural barriers, loneliness and nonchalant attitude of citizens of the host country.

In spite of all these challenges, Reverend Father Onuchukwu said he is fulfilled living as if already dead in Christ and propagating the gospel.

He encouraged youths to take up vocations in foreign countries for better mortification.

Reverend father Onuchukwu who was a marriage counsellor in the United
States for eleven years, advised Africans resident overseas to stop
going back home to marry.
