The journey of the Late Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Audio-visuals, Mr Randie Chima to his final resting place, yesterday commenced with a vigil mass at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Awka.
Governor Willie Obiano, his Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff, Mr Primus Odili among other top officials of the State government were present at the event to pay their last respect to the late Audio-visuals maestro.

The Governor had earlier signed a condolence register for the late Randie, before proceeding to the mass.
In his tribute, Governor Obiano described the late Randie as a core professional who had a fine taste for excellence in what he does, adding that the vacuum his demise has created has been difficult to fill.
He opined that death impresses on Christians, the need to live right at all times as they do not know when it will call, praying for the repose of the soul of Randie.
Governor Obiano further assured that he will continue to support the family during and after their period of grief.

Earlier in a homily, a Resident Priest at the Church, Monsignor Jerome Madueke who emphasized that death is a necessary end for all mortals, harped on the need for the living to endeavour to find rest and peace for their souls by first being at peace with God and their fellow humans.
Some friends of the Late Randie including the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Barr Ifeatu Obi-okoye and the Managing Director of the State Signage Agency, Chief Jude Emechetta recalled the good times they shared with the deceased whom they described as a jolly fellow, encouraging the family to take heart, and the children, to immortalize him by upholding the legacy of humaneness he loved while on earth.
