The remains of the late Omanyinya Ameke Nzekwe Akorah have been laid to rest at Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area. Chief Akorah who died at the age of Ninety, was buried according to funeral rites of Aguleri community.
He was the father of the Managing Director of Anambra State WasteManagement Agency ASWAMA, Mr. Amaechi Akora.
Speaking on life and times of the Late Omanyinya Ameke Nzekwe Akorah, the chairman of the burial Committee, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor who is also the Commissioner for works said their father lived a fulfilled life.
Mr Ifejiofor an Engineer, described the deceased as one who lived peacefully with people and a kinsman that stood on truth, praying for the repose of his Soul.
In her condolence message, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Mrs Uju Nwogu, said the son of the deceased, Mr Amaechi Akora, is a good Man, advising him to take solace in God for their father lived the stipulated biblical age and should continue from where he stopped with his good works.
Commiserating with the Akorah family, the Commissioner for Environment Mr Mike Okonkwo and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Environment Mr Stanly Nkwoka, said God gave Late Omanyinya, long life because of his good deeds towards mankind advising his children to uphold his legacies.
Also speaking, Chief Chinedu Idigo went down memory lane on how Late Omanyinya was advising and directing them till they grew up, stating that his demise has created a vacuum in Aguleri.
In their various condolences, a one-time Commissioner for Information and Culture in the State, Chief Maja Umeh, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr Emeka Ozumba, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting service Mr Uche Nworah and his Anambra Newspapers Printing and Publishing Corporation, counterpart, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, prayed God to give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The burial attracted many dignitaries from the state and beyond including the Secretary to the State government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Sir Willie Nwokoye, traditional rulers led by the traditional ruler of Aguleri Igwe Christopher Idigo, among others.
