The rich culture of Ndi Ukpo community, in Dunukofia local government area was demonstrated  during the traditional marriage
ceremony of the first daughter of the Director of Finance of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mrs Nneka Ogbuonwu.

The ceremony took place at Mr Boniface Ogbuonwu’s compound, Oranto Village, Ukpo, who is the father of the bride, Miss Chinyere Cynthia Ogbuonwu.

The event attracted family members of the bride and groom, friends and well wishers, colleagues including the ABS family who gathered to be witnesses to the creation of a new family in the Igbo setting.

The guests, both men and women were clad in various glamorous attires popularly called ashuebi.

It was indeed a celebration as they were treated with sumptuous dishes and assorted drinks.

With the conclusion of the marriage rites, the bride entered  the arena, and welcomed the  guests as custom and tradition demand.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Nze Uche Nworah, congratulated the Ogbuonwu
family and  commended  the ABS staff  celebrating  their own as has been the routine of the organisation.

Nze Nworah who identified  traditional marriage as one of the events that promote Igbo culture with its richness in cultural activities including the type of food  people  are known for,  their dress code and
language, prayed God to bless the young family with good things  of life.

Other management staff of ABS who spoke at the event including the Director News And Current Affairs of the ABS Mr Gab Okpalaeze, the Director of Programmes, Mrs Kate IG Okeke, Director Legal Services,
Mrs Juliet Ikeh, Head of Administration Department, Lady Tina Ekenta and Head of Engineering, Engineer Paul Okoye, expressed
appreciation to God for His goodness upon the Ogbuonwu family, urging the new couple to live in love and fear of God.

The parents of the bride, Mr and Mrs Boniface Ogbuonwu  thanked all who came to felicitate with them praying God to bless all.

The mother of the groom, Mrs Grace Ezeudu, thanked God for keeping her alive to see her son take a wife, and advised them to make God the pillar of their marriage.

The new couple, Mr and Mrs Arinze Ezeudu appreciated God for making the event a success and for joining them as man and wife promising to live in love and understanding
