The State government has inaugurated the installation of fifty thousand Close Circuit Television Cameras across the State, which will be manned by professionals to provide support to security agencies in the fight against crime.
Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this yesterday at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium in Aguata Local Government Area when he inaugurated the 2018 Ember Months Security Operations in the State.
The Governor who said that his administration will procure more gadgets to assist security agencies in their duties restated his readiness to battle crime to a standstill in Anambra State and called on Ndi Anambra and other holiday makers to come and spend their yuletide in the State, as it is safe for everyone.
Also during the inauguration, the Governor rewarded deserving officers across the various security agencies in the State who have distinguished themselves in their service as well as presented
financial support to families of Officers and Men who died in active service.
In a remark the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar disclosed that the Ember Month’s operations had commenced since September with the aim of sustaining the effective security network in the State.
In their separate remarks, the Coordinator, State Vigilante service Chief Ikechukwu Aduba and a stakeholder in Aguata Local Government Area, Chief Titus Anigbogu said the security in the State has been adjudged the best in the country because of the invaluable contributions of Governor Obiano and his strategic planning.
In a vote of thanks, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, in charge of Zone nine, Mr Hassan Karma said the exercise marks another milestone in the efforts of the Obiano administration to continue to provide adequate security to Ndi Anambra.
The Governor also during the event handed over fifty smart motorbikes to the Nigeria Police for effective patrol across the hinterlands.
