When somebody is saved from an accident that appears fatal, when another is healed miraculously or when extra ordinary good things happen in people’s lives, they are regarded as miracles.

But to some patients who are held prisoners at hospitals for not being able to pay their hospital bills, if they eventually get such   bills
paid by those whom they do not know,  it is more miraculous than any other thing.

That was the scenario   at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, when a club known as Elite Fitness Club,

Lagos state, visited the hospital and paid the bill of eight patients, among whom were children, the aged and accident victims, who have stayed over six months after being discharged.

It was a festival of tears of joy as the beneficiaries jubilate  and expressed appreciation to God and their benefactors for coming to their rescue.

The President of the club Chief Amobi Ike in his remarks  said it is an annual practice  by the club to touch lives, no matter how little.

He explained that since the Club is made up of men of Igbo extraction, they saw the need to come home and help their own people.

He added that they were able to carry out such humanitarian services from individual efforts adding that  no sacrifice is too much for those in need.

Receiving the group earlier, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital , Professor Anthony Igwegbe appreciated the club for giving
hope to the hopeless, and noted that the Igbos are known for philanthropic spirit.

While urging them not to relent, Professor Igwegbe also called on affluent citizens to toe the path of the club, stating that help from
individuals and groups like the club, encourages the hospital not to turn back on any patient on account of money.
