The commissioning of projects under the second phase of the twenty million naira community choose your project initiative has continued, in six communities .
The commissioning kicked off at Mgbakwu community, where the state government’s representatives commissioned medical centre at State Polytechnic Mgbakwu in Awka North Council Area.
They also commissioned the first Anambra state House of Assembly complex renovated into a modern civic centre at Enugwu-ukwu in Njikoka council area.
Other projects commissioned include a civic centre and pavilions at Umudioka in Dunukofia Council Area, Healthcare centre at Nri, thirty six lock up shops at Nimo and pavilions at Mbaukwu community.
While commissioning the projects, Governor Willie Obiano represented by his Special Adviser on Community Projects, Architect Okey Ezeobi reiterated that the execution of the projects were in line with the policy trust of his administration to accelerate development in every community.
The Governor noted that the projects were communal points of interaction and one that brings communities together for reactivation
of issues and family ties.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Projects Implementation, Ambassador Jeffery Ubah, charged the communities to protect the projects against vandals and assured them of third phase
by January next year.
The traditional ruler of Enugwu Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh, and President General of the town, Comrade Bonny Ozo-Nkwuaku who expressed satisfaction with the renovation work said that the initiative is the most effective way of taking democracy dividends to the grassroot.
Igwe Peter Anugwu of Mbaukwu represented by the Igwe in council Chairman, Chief Godfrey Ogalonye and President General of the town, Sir Ozoemena Onyiluka maintained that such initiative fastracks the development of the hinterlands.
