Nkpor Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mr. Obiora Oddih, has vowed to handover illegal  revenue collectors in Nkpor Markets to the State Government for prosecution.

Mr. Oddih said that inspite of all the warnings from the state government on illegal tax collectors; some miscreants still go round
collecting illegal tax and levies from traders and shops around Nkpor community.

He said he was not aware and was not prepared to support such illegal extortions by Nkpor Youths saying it is really embarrassing to his Committee.

The caretaker committee chairman noted that Anambra State Government had created conducive environment for traders and Ndi Anambra to carry on their businesses unhindered.

He pleaded with the state government to come to their rescue, stressing that the problems of Nkpor youths was really getting out of hand.

Mr. Oddih commended the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano  towards stopping
illegal collections in Anambra by mandating the security agencies in the state to go after illegal collectors.

Reacting to the situation, Mr. Vincent Oniehe, an automobile mechanic at Agulu Avenue, Nkpor, said that Nkpor youths had been frustrating and intimidating them from time to time  lamenting that if they ask for money
from the traders  and they refused , they will beat them up.

Mrs. Amaka Edozie, who vends provisions, said the Nkpor youths forcefully collected seven thousand naira from her, stressing that the youths said the money was for Christmas celebration.

Mrs. Edozie, however, appealed to the state government to come to their aid, noting that their lives were no longer safe at the hands of
the youths.
