As the year 2018 is gradually coming to an end, some prominent Nigerians have continued to bare their minds on their expectations in 2019.
Most of the respondents were of the view that the federal government needs to map out far reaching measures that will improve the living standards of the people.
One of them who is a front line industrialist Chief Godwin Okafor regretted the poor state of federal roads across the country which he noted is causing a serious setback to the speedy industrialization of the Nigerian-nation.
He called on government to do the needful in fixing all its failed roads next year in addition to improving electricity supply to save many industries from closing shops.
Chief Okafor used the opportunity to appeal to both federal government and Academic Staff Union of the Universities to find a lasting solution to the ongoing industrial action to save the nation’s Education sector from total collapse.
Contributing, the traditional ruler of Nise in Awka South Local Government Area Igwe Romanus Iloh who regretted the high rate of unemployment in the country urged all levels of government to create more employment opportunities for the teeming youths to divert their minds from crime and restiveness.
Igwe Iloh who condemned the use of youths by selfish politicians as thugs during elections canvassed for the establishment of more skill acquisition centres across the country where youths will learn various skills that will make them self-reliant.
For the President-General of the Neni Ton Union in Anaocha Local Government Area Chief Chukwudi Mbonu the federal government should accord priority to security of lives and property and put machineries in place to end incessant killings of innocent citizens by the Fulani Herdsmen.
