Nando community in Anambra East Council Area has demonstrated love at Christmas as a philanthropist and the Igwe in Council Anambra East, Sir John Iwuno distributed some items to Nando widows as a way of giving them sense of belonging in the celebration.

The widows who were selected from the ten villages of Nando community including Umuawo, Ubanusioye, Okpobili, Abubagu, Abubauno, Amaegwene-Achallagu, Isiyi, Aka-Ato, Dagama, and Agbugu received one bag of rice, tomatoes, and money each from the philanthropist.

Speaking to the ABS shortly after the exercise, the Benefactor Sir John said the gesture was his little way of supporting the less privileged in the area to enable them celebrate Christmas with others.

Sir John, who also noted that he distributed the gifts to the downtrodden as a way of supporting the good governance of Chief Willie Obiano in the state, used the opportunity to call on the community members to avoid any anti peace behaviours during the celebration and wished them well.

In their separate reactions , some of the community members including Engineer Fabian Agbasionweh, and Mr Ifeanyi Oraeke while enumerating various projects that the philanthropist has commenced and completed for his community, commended his love and care for the poor, and encouraged him to sustain the tempo.

To Lady Rosemary Ejike, Nigeria would be a better place to live in if the rich could borrow a leaf from Sir John.

The beneficiaries of the gifts including Mrs Nkwute Okolo, Mrs Ngozi Nwabunwanne, and Mrs Caroline Ginikanwa thanked Sir John for given them reason to smile and celebrate with others throughout the festive period, praying God to reward and bless him more.

The women during the event chanted songs of solidarity for Sir John Iwuno.
