Nibo community has celebrated the 2018 Ezeike Day and conferred chieftaincy titles on some illustrious sons of the community for their overwhelming contributions and support to the town.

The event which took place at the community’s Civic Center, attracted heavy presence of the political class in the state, members of the Traditional Rulers Council, people from the four villages that make up the town, who trooped out to show solidarity to their royal Father.

The festival kicked off with the arrival of the traditional ruler of Nibo Igwe Michael Ngene accompanied by his cabinet members, danced into the arena to the Igba Eze dance after which he prayed for his subjects with the kolanut.

Addressing his subjects after the kolanut ritual, Igwe Ngene thanked Governor Willie Obiano and Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, for their continual support to the community as well as the state traditional institution for entrenching peace in the state resulting to the heavy mass return in all parts of the state.

He equally extolled the doggedness of the town union in maintaining unity and assured that Nibo people will continue to be law abiding as well as support government policies and programme.

While listing some of his constituency projects in the community, the member representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Victor Umeh, described the crowd at the event as a sign of love among the people, and assured the royal father of his unflinching support at all time.

On the 2019 general elections in the country, Senator Umeh solicited the support of Nibo community to enable him complete his lofty vision and promised to continue to fight for the cause of the Igbo people.

Earlier in an address of welcome, the President General of the community, Sir Innocent Akuvuo and an illustrious Son of Nibo, Sir Onny Nwanna, said that the community is cerebrating the thirty-three
years on the throne of their monarch and acknowledged his landmark achievements in the community and also to appreciate some outstanding sons of Nibo for their assistance in the development of the community.

One of those conferred with Chieftaincy titles, Chief Dan Okafor and the leader of non indigenes living in the community, Mr. Emose Onwuda, thanked the community for recognizing some deserving sons, as it will spur them on to do more and appreciated the Ezeike for his God giving wisdom in piloting the affairs of the community.
