It was a celebration of achievements, effective service delivery and wise leadership as the traditional ruler of Ndikelionwu, Professor Chukwuemeka Ike, celebrated his tenth coronation anniversary.
The event held at Ilo Hockey Square in the town, attracted different personalities, including government and non government functionaries, traditional rulers, and the clergy among others.
The arena was filled to capacity as eleven villages in the town led by their Eze-Ogo including
Age grades, Nzuko Iyom and Umu-ada paid homage to the traditional ruler.
In his royal message, Professor Ike who is the eleventh king on the throne of Ndikelionwu and a renowned novelist who expressed gratitude to God for the privilege to be on the throne pledged to bring more succor to the less privileged and re-invigorate peace and unity in the community.
The monarch commended Governor Obiano for always providing them with enabling working environment through his numerous policies and developmental programmes.
In an address, the President General of the community, Mr. Okechukwu Okereke, said that the emergence of their traditional ruler has brought unprecedented development and peaceful co-existence among their people.
In their separate goodwill messages, the former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Governments, Mr. Nwabuonu Ogbaji, the Vice President General of the town, Mr. Humphrey Onuorah and an Indigene of the community, Mr. Chidi Nwafor appreciated their traditional ruler for his humility and commitment in making genuine efforts towards having a progressive, sane, incorruptible and peaceful society.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairman Planning Committee of the anniversary, Mr. Peter Nwankwo who congratulated the Igwe, prayed God to grant him wisdom, strength and courage to take right decisions at all times.
The event ended with a prayer session by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor represented by Reverend Father Wisdom Otaluka.
