The Oraukwu Development Dynamic Union in America, Oraukwu Brothers Association and Oraukwu Medical Doctors Association have provided free medical services to the Ndi Oraukwu and its environs.
The event which was held at the Oraukwu Health Centre, Idemili North Local Government Area attracted both Ndi Oraukwu and beyond.
Explaining the motive behind the free medical mission to the ABS, Dr. Mrs Queen Ozigbo who is a member of the Oraukwu Development Dynamic Union in America, said that the three umbrella bodies came together to help indigenes of the community and beyond medically at no cost.
Dr. Mrs Ozigbo who revealed that they have been offering the free medical services for the past seven years, noted that some of the illnesses discovered during the exercise were hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, ulcer, malaria, eye problems, even as she said, that they equally donate wheel chairs, walkers, reading glasses among other things, and sought assistance from the government to enable them equip and staff a hospital built by Oraukwu Brothers Association over the years and donated to the government many years ago.
The President, Oraukwu Development Dynamic Union in America Mr Patrick-Chudi Anuna, said that the gesture is all about the development of the community and giving back to the society, especially now that the Nigerian economy is in shambles.
For the President, Oraukwu Brothers Union, Brother James Umeji, free medical mission is the best way to alleviate poverty, as according to him, it is only a healthy person that can work and urged other communities in the state to emulate what they are doing for a healthy and prosperous Anambra State.
Two beneficiaries, Mrs Nkemakonam Eche and Mr. Ngozi Ufere commended their benefactors and prayed God to uplift their individual and collective lives.
