Over two hundred widows have received ten kilogram bag of rice each while one hundred and two youths, have been empowered with barbering accessories.

The philanthropic gesture was extended to them during the fifth annual empowerment programme of Onwa Igbariam Foundation held at Ukwu Orji village, Igbariam Anambra East Council area.

The fifth annual Empowerment of Onwa Igbariam foundation which cuts across all communities in Anambra East Council Area, attracted APGA faithful, widows, youths and women of the communities.

Speaking in a homily during a mass to mark the event , the Chaplain Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, University Teaching hospital, Amaku Awka, Reverend Father Justin Ezechukwu, appreciated Chief Lawrence Anikpeh, the founder of the foundation for giving back to the society and called on Christians to show love to their neigbours.

In his remark, the benefactor Chief Anikpeh, while acknowledging God as the ultimate giver in all aspects, said the empowerment programme was to fulfill the promise he made to God for making him successful in life as well as a way to give back to the society.

Chief Anikpeh thanked Governor Willie Obiano for his good governance in the state saying that empowerment programme is a sure way of alleviating the sufferings of the indigent members of the society.

Some beneficiaries including Mr. Benjamin Ngbako and Mrs. Victoria Ifediegwu, thanked the Onwa Igbariam foundation for the humanitarian gesture praying God to continue to bless and establish him and his household.
