Forty students of St John’s Secondary School Akwa-Ukwu, have received scholarship awards while thirteen women selected from Akwa-Ukwu, Oba and Ojoto communities received fifty thousand naira Cash Empowerment each, from Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central at the
National Assembly.

The forty students who were on the verge of being ejected out of school due to inability to pay their school fees were favoured by Senator Umeh during his campaign rally in Akwa-Ukwu.

Senator Umeh who is the APGA candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming General Elections enumerated his landmark achievements within one year to include youth empowerment, and scholarship awards to students in various institutions across the country of which every community under Anambra Central Senatorial District is a beneficiary.

He called on the people of the three communities to vote all APGA candidates during the election to enable them enjoy more democracy dividends, assuring them of a representation that would be based on equity, fairness, effectiveness, transparency and efficiency.

On their parts, the Presidents General Akwa-Ukwu Town Union, Mr. Uchenna Anayo, and his Oba and Ojoto counterparts, Mr. Mike Nwachukwu and Dr. Edwin Umeghalu respectively, while commending Senator Umeh for a job well-done, pledged their full support to his second term bid.

Contributing, the Idemili South Local Government APGA Chairman, Honorable Felix Obunadike and an APGA chieftain, Chief Dan Ogbuefi called on the people of Anambra Central senatorial District to come out en-mass, elect APGA candidates at all levels and as well protect their votes.

The event witnessed a stopover at the palace of Eze Okpoko of Oba where the Regent of Oba, Prince Noel Ezenwa gave them a warm welcome and prayed for the candidates to have a smooth and successful Election.
