The Nations Armed Forces Act which was inherited from the British government in 1960 has been reviewed for the first time.

This is part of the larger review of the Armed Forces Act, the final document which has been submitted to the Minister of Defence.

The Chairman of the Review Committee, Chibugo Ibekwe, noted that the extant Armed Forces Act which has been in force for more than twenty-four years was full of irregularities arising from its
application.
