In continuation of his re-election campaign rallies at Awka North Local Government Area, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh has empowered over fifteen indigent widows within the area.
The women that benefitted from the empowerment programme was derived from Urum, Amanuke and Achalla.
On arrival at the campaign ground, party stakeholders, youths, Indigenes and non Indigenes of Awka North Council Area, testified to the humanitarian disposition of Chief Umeh, assuring him of total support in making sure that APGA trounce other parties in the forth coming elections.
While handing over the empowerment gifts, Chief Umeh said he is committed to human capital development and would ensure reliable representation to his constituents as well as strive to promote robust development in Anambra Central Senatorial District through awarding scholarships, skill acquisition, construction of roads and providing succor to the needy.
Chief Umeh assured that if re-elected come February sixteenth he will continue to to make useful contributions to important national issues especially one affecting the Igbo people, adding that he will not relent in his plans towards alleviating the plight of the vulnerable.
In a remark the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Safety and Emergency, Mr Chikodi Anara noted that APGA led by Governor Obiano has recorded indelible landmarks in the state by creating enabling environment, and securing lives and property of the populace.
Also speaking, the Member representing Awka North and South Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Anayo Nnebe, APGA candidate for the state House of Assembly, Mr John Nwokoye, the Vice-President General of Urum, Mr. Amaechi Obiesili, and some traditional rulers, noted that Chief Umeh has ensured even distribution of democracy dividends to his constituents.
Some of the beneficiaries including, Mrs Caroline ifejika, Stella Attado, Mirriam Iloemenam, and Chigozie Chigbogu, commended Chief Umeh for his kind gesture and pledged to judiciously use the opportunities given to them by the philanthropist to improve their standard of living.
