The Nigerian Society of Engineers has commended the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, for its exemplary role in the advocacy of science and engineering-based education for the girl child through support for the activities of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria.
The President Nigerian Society of Engineers, Mr Adekunle Mokuolu, gave the commendation in Abuja while receiving the Management of the NNPC led by the corporation’s Group Managing Director, Dr Maikanti Baru, to the Headquarters of the society.
He disclosed that by identifying with Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria in its quest to engender a sound foundation for female engineering professionals in the country, NNPC is taking a step that would invariably illuminate the nation’s engineering and technological landscape a few years from now.
Mr Mokuolu, particularly commended Dr Baru whom he described as a worthy first class ambassador of the engineering profession, saying that he is not just a first class scholar but also a worthy administrator.
Meanwhile, the World Bank has agreed to give Morocco seventy-three million dollar loan to create jobs in the private sector
The World Bank approved the loan through a six-year-partnership with Morocco, from 2019 to 2024, to help her reduce unemployment.
According to Morocco’s High Commission for Planning, the unemployment rate in that country dropped from ten point two percent to nine point eight percent between 2017 and 2018.
The World Bank also want Morocco to ensure good governance, gender equality, and greater reliance on digitization.
