Anambra State representative St. John’s Technical College Alor has won bronze in this year’s International Festival of Engineering, Science and Technology I-FEST, held in Tunisia .
A
statement signed by the Commissioner For Basic Education, Professor
Kate Omenugha, said the team was expected back to Nigeria on Saturday
. The statement noted that St John’s Technical College is a
public mission school and one of the Technical Schools Governor
Obiano’s adminitration has revamped.
According
to the Manager of the School Reverend Father Francis, the
Championship is a festival of Science and Technology where children
between the ages of 11 and 24 are given opportunity to bring innovations
into the world of technology.
Reverend Father
Francis explained that the School competed in Electricity and Energy
under Physics and attended with a manually made electric Inverter and
solar panel while two innovations were also introduced by the students
in the world of solar technology which were undergoing further
researches.
He disclosed that about 31 countries were in attendance with over 251 projects vetted and judged.
