The incoming members of the seventh Anambra state House of Assembly have been urged to put the collective welfare of the state above every other consideration in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

Speaking to journalist in Awka, the APGA Vice Chairman, Anambra South, Chief Titus Anigbogu said this would support the present drive of Governor Wilie Obiano’s administration to consolidate on its remarkable achievement through effective service delivery.

Chief Anigbogu reminded the incoming lawmakers that as representatives of their constituencies they are link between Government and people and should aspire to make quality laws that would accelerate overall development of the state and further raise quality of lives of the people and expressed confidence that quality of legislators elected for the seventh Assembly are capable of building on the achievements of their outgoing predecessors.

He noted that outstanding performance of APGA in the last General Election has established strong presence of the party across the country as one of the three top political parties in the country with very bright future prospects.

Also speaking, an APGA chieftain from Nnobi, Dr Mike Omenugha said in addition to making quality laws, the legislators should equally ensure prompt passage of bills that would enable the governor to sustain the high tempo of implementation of his policies for the benefit of the people and avoid any act of conflict and confrontation that would slow the state down.

Dr Omenugha urged the incoming lawmakers to be alive to their over-sight functions to ensure quality service delivering by contractors, Ministries, Department and Agencies and strive to attract
quality constituency projects that would impact positively on the lives of the people.
