Anambra State government says it will continue to collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Corps to ensure that Anambra remains traffic and accident-free State.

The Commissioner for Transport, Mr Uchenna Okafor, stated this when he received the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Andrew Kumapayi in his office at the Jerome Udoji secretariat complex in Awka.

The Commissioner stated that Anambra had high traffic challenges because of its gateway location to some States in the South-South, South East and North Central.

According to him, Anambra State is also a transit route, second to Lagos adding that Governor Willie Obiano is taking the issue of road safety seriously.

Earlier the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Kumapayi, commended Governor Willie Obiano for his good work in the State, which he said has made the State one of the best in security of lives and property.

He also disclosed that Anambra State has one of the best road network across the country and called for the upgrade of Driving Schools across the State for efficiency.
