The State government has constituted a Caretaker Committee for Awa Development Union in Orumba North Local Government Area.
The Committee has Mr Obinna Nwafor as Chairman while Mr Ifeanyi Okoli will serve as Secretary.
A release signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mrs Vera-Queen Okonkwo, says the seven-man committee has the mandate of reconciling different factions as well as restoring the spirit of oneness in the community.
The release in addition maintained that the Caretaker Committee of Awa Development Union, will put in place a structure that will ensure and sustain peaceful co-existence amongst the people of the area.
The Committee has the responsibility of preparing grounds for the smooth conduct of a credible election into the Awa Development Union, which will be supervised by the Ministry of Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs.
The Committee has a tenure of three months with effect from twenty-fifth of April 2019.
