The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts has applauded the Management of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe for keeping its financial records straight.

The Committee commended the institution when it visited them for the
verification of their audited financial transactions for the year,
2017.

Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Charles Ezeani explained that the essence of the exercise was to compel government organs to key into the standard acceptable way of keeping financial records to encourage transparency and accountability.

After looking into the financial transactions of the school with regards to 2017,the committee commended them for justifying the funds allocated to them during the year under review by expending it on the projects it was meant for.

The Committee called on ministries, agencies and state tertiary institutions that are yet to appear before it for the verification of their 2017 financial transactions to do, so as it will soon present
its report to the State House of Assembly.

In a vote of thanks, the Dean, School of Education, Dr. Ndu Azubuike observed that the meeting served as a platform for them to know the areas where they can improve in order to make the school à reference point and extolled the Committee for living up to its oversight responsibility.
