The State Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Wealth Creation, has re-stated readiness to rid the state of illegal revenue collectors.

The Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr Christian Mmadubuko stated this at Government House Awka when his men paraded one Mr Ignatius Emenogu from Imo state, who was allegedly collecting tolls at Igbariam junction and Mr John Nnaemena caught at Ukwulu, while indulging in the same act.

Dr Mmadubuko noted that despite state government’s sensitization and warning, some hoodlums are still diverting government funds even as he said that they will not relent in arresting culprits.

He stated that many of them caught have been charged to court, warning those who are still in such act to desist as they will deal decisively with anyone caught in the act.

The Tax Force Commander, Anti Illegal Toll Collection Mr Nathan Obikwelu called on the public to give them useful information about those still engaging in the act so as to apprehend and charge them to court.
