Prominent Citizens in the country have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to seek ways of ending the epileptic power supply in the country.
Speaking to the ABS at his country home Neni, in Anaocha Local Government Area, a front line industrialist Dr Anthony Enukeme regretted that inadequate power supply has forced many indigenous companies out of business which he noted is not in the best interest of the country.
According to Dr Enukeme, addressing the challenges of poor power supply and multiple taxation will go a long way in strengthening the local industries for enhanced productivity, thereby improving the Nation’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP.
Dr Enukeme who is an Aba based industrialist, equally called on the federal government to look into the deplorable condition of its roads especially in the South-East Geo-political zone for enhanced transportation and business transactions.
On his part, a Lagos based industrialist, Chief Godwin Okafor called on the government to device means of giving new industries tax holiday of at least five years before they can stabilize in paying tax as being done in Western countries.
Chief Okafor, who is an indigene of Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area called for the establishment of industrial parks in the six geo-political zones of the country for the promotion of goods and services in the country.
For the Traditional ruler of Nise in Awka South Local government area Igwe Romanus Iloh apart from boosting the power generation in the country and improved road transportation, President Buhari should place priority on health care delivery, education, agriculture for enhanced living standards of the people.
