The Anambra State Government has reassured total commitment to the overall development of the State Health sector.
Governor Willie Obiano stated this at the College of Nursing Sciences, Diocesan Hospital, Amichi during a one day official Visit and Inspection of road projects executed by the State Government in the College.
The Governor and his entourage was received by the Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor, Staff and students as well as patients in the hospital, among others.
According to the Governor, nursing is an important arm in Healthcare delivery.
He reeled out Anambra state government’s efforts in the sector including interventions at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, and various Schools of Nursing, among others, stressing that the Sector is desirous of qualified nursing personnel.
The Governor used the opportunity to call on Ndi Anambra to tap into the State insurance scheme because of its attendant benefits of being a unique platform of Healthcare provision, especially in remote areas and promised to give the Hospital a bus.
The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor said that the hospital road is about one point six kilometers, awarded in 2017 and completed in 2018 with two side drainages.
The Member representing Nnewi South Constituency One in the State House of Assembly, Barrister Kingsley Iruba, and a stakeholder in Amichi, Chief Maja Umeh, appreciated State Government for helping to develop the hospital, stressing its strategic importance to the people of the area.
Student nurses in the hospital received the Governor with chants of appreciation.
