The Managing Director Anambra State Leisure Parks and Streets Beautification Agency, lady Ify Atogu has called for beautification of the environment through tree and flower planting.
Lady Ify made the call in Awka while speaking on the upcoming world Tree Planting Day.
Lady Ify described trees and flowers as critical to the sustainability of human existence.
She remarked that in addition to checkmating erosion , trees and flowers beautify compounds, release natural air for healthy living and boosts tourism.
Lady Ify advised Ndi Anambra to plant ornamental trees and flowers in their homes and surroundings pointing out that they have much to gain by doing so.
She commended Governor Obiano for his special interest in enhancing the aesthetic beauty of Anambra state by creating the state Leisure Parks and Streets Beautification Agency and expressed optimism that her agency will work assiduously to achieve the governors objective of making Anambra greener and beautiful.
According to lady Ify, the Obiano administration is fully committed to the welfare, security and leisure of the citizenry and will leave no stone unturned to actualize this noble goal.
While beckoning on the citizenry to shun indiscriminate falling of trees, she encouraged them to remain loyal and supportive to this administration which is fully committed to ensuring that no section of the state is denied of dividends of democracy.
She called on staff of her agency to be alive to their responsibility warning that the present administration has no room for indolent workers, even as she led her staff to plant ornamental trees around their office in preparation for the world Tree Planting Day.
