Those who still do business under shanties at the Harbour Industrial Layout, Ogbaru, have been directed to vacate immediately as the Anambra state Government has commenced the removal of all illegal structures at the industrial zone. This aims at returning the place to its original plan and to rid the area of criminal activities which are aided by such structures. The Chairman and Managing Director, Anambra state Physical Planning Board Mr. Chike Maduekwe who spoke on the heels of removal of illegal structures embarked upon by the Board, said security is the top priority of Governor Obiano led administration. 

The Board Chairman said they cannot sit back and watch the industrial layout turn into a criminal hide out, describing the Layout as one of the best in the country, with good network of roads.  He explained that the Board has done the first section of the clearance at the Residential Area of the Layout where articulated vehicles took advantage of the spacious roads to park their lorries for months, noting that preponderance of articulated vehicles also breed crime.             Mr. Maduekwe who made it clear that government is not witch hunting anybody, stressed that the Board will implement an initiative that will serve as a permanent deterrent to those who will come back to rebuild the   illegal structures after the demolition .             Mrs. Amaka Njoku, and Mr. Ugochukwu Onuta who are   food vendors at the Industrial Layout told the ABS that they have done the business for years in the area and  lamented the hardship the closure of their business will cause them, and  pleaded for more time to enable them find another place for their  business.
