The State citizenry have been advised to always approach the State Boundary Commission each time there is a land dispute for amicable resolution.


The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Boundary Commission Mr. Emma
Nwokoye gave the advise in an ABS Radio audience Participatory Programme Issues in Awka.


Speaking on the topic Boundary Conflicts Management Mr. Nwokoye regretted the increasing number of land disputes among communities in the state and frowned at the rate at which people maim and kill others because of land.


The Executive Secretary encouraged Ndi Anambra to always approach the
Commission each time there is a boundary matter, as the commission is
well equipped to ensure amicable resolution of boundary issues in the
State and beyond.


Another discussant on the programme, Mr Chuks Nzomiwu who is the
Chairman Anambra State Chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Surveyors
encouraged communities to engage the services of qualified Surveyors
each time they are dealing on land matters to avoid unending litigations and crisis, as according to him, law courts can give judgments but total peace may not be achieved.


Some callers to the programme including  Messrs David Moore from Nanka and Peter from Aguleri made suggestions on the best ways to achieve peace among
communities concerning land matters.
