The federal government has been urged  to   tackle  the problem of insecurity and unemployment in the country.


The Anglican Bishop of Diocese of Niger West, Right Reverend Johnson Ekwe made the call during the thanksgiving service to mark the end of their third session of the third synod which took place at Immanuel Anglican Church Parish, Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area.

Addressing the synod, Bishop Ekwe noted that the theme of the synod”
The Strategy of high praises to God” will help people to understand
who God is, the nature, quality and his attributes, saying that praising God has elements of prayer, Thanksgiving and gratitude.

Earlier in a sermon, a Guest Preacher and the Rector, Saint Francis of Assisi College of Theology and College of Education, Wusasa, Zaria Diocese, Right Reverend Praises Omolekun who spoke on “the power of praise”, noted that praise moves God to do great things, releases peace and guarantees rich blessings, urging  the participants  to make out time for praising God.

On his part, the Bishop Diocese of Amichi, Diocese, Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor listed strategies of giving high praises to God to include humility, Holiness, genuine repentance and sincerity of heart,
urging people to come closer to God through praises.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Board of Internal Generated Revenue, Honorable Lawrence Chukwuma thanked God for the spread of the gospel in the area and urged the people to embrace the
gospel.

In their remarks, the Synod Clerical Secretary, Venerable Theophilus
Edo, the Vicar of the host church, Reverend Canon Slyvanus Onyeachulam
and wife Ify thanked God for the success of the synod.

Others who spoke at the event include Chief Joseph Akwuobi, Chief Jekwu Anikpe among others.

Governor Willie Obiano who was represented at the Synod by the Chief
of Staff, Chief Primus Odili restated government’s commitment towards
partnering the church commended bishop Ekwe for his achievements  in the
Diocese and assured  of more support.

Praise session, Thanksgiving and cutting of synod cake also featured
at the service.
