Mr Obi Nwankwo, Anambra State Commissioner for Environment says the Ministry will embark on statewide roadshow and sensitisation campaign beginning Friday, July 12, 2019 in Awka metropolis.

The Awka roadshow which will include officers of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade) and Anambra Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) will begin at Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), and pass through Agu Awka, Amaenyi, Eke Awka, Amawbia (Governor’s Lodge), Eke Nibo, Amawbia Junction, Club road and Unizik Junction.

According to Mr Nwankwo, “We want to take Dobe Anambra Ocha campaign’ to Ndi Anambra, to their homes, offices, schools and markets. We will use the opportunity to answer questions from the public, and share information with regards to Anambra environmental laws”.

Continuing he said that the ministry will begin enforcement and prosecution of environmental law offenders in August 2019, after the roadshow which will visit the 3 senatorial zones.
