Awka July 16 , 2019 (MOI ) The Chairman state traditional rulers council Obi Onitsha, igwe Alfred Achebe gave the indication when Commissioner for public Utilities Engr, Emeka Ezewanne and his team paid the Igwes courtesy visit during the council meeting at government house Awka.

Igwe Achebe who spoke on behalf others traditional rulers assured commissioner Ezenwanne and commissioner local government, Chieftaincy and community Affairs of their readiness in partnering with them in putting measures to reduce the likelihood of Vandalism occurring in their dormains

While appreciating them for the visit ,igwe Achebe urged them to always notify the traditional rulers anytime they have government installation in their communities and assured them of their collaboration in assisting them arrest the hoodlums , their sons and daughters if any and those patronizing the Vandals.

Igwe Achebe also promised to educate their subjects of continued protection of government Utilities in their dormains as well as increased security, public awareness and police involvement to track down the miscreants and Vandals.

Addressing the traditional rulers, Commissioner Ezenwanne who expressed worry over the rate hoodlums Vandalized government Utilities warned such Vandals to relocate or risked arrest and prosecution.

The public Utilities Boss assured the traditional rulers of stronger partnership to safe guard government facilities such as Street light, Transformer, Water Projects and mismanagement of street light operation especially the diesel usage to stop forth with efforts of some operators diesel that misuse it.

On water projects, commissioner Ezenwanne appealed to the traditional rulers to help get credible experts from their communities to take over the management and operation of big water scheme and called for public private participation and private Sector participation to ensure sustainability of such water facilities , Street light and transformers among others.
