The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has been described as the vehicle for delivering credible democracy in Nigeria.


Governor Willie Obiano gave the description at the second APGA Quadrennial retreat and seminar tagged “APGA: Looking back, charting the course for the future”.


Ekwi Ajide of our Abuja Bureau reports that the governor was represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye.


Addressing the assemblage, Governor Obiano, stressed that the party had maintained the highest sense of duty has not been deterred by unnecessary distractions and urged them to provide the much needed credible democracy for Nigerians.


The Governor said he envisions a brighter future for the party and enjoined members to live up to the challenge of filling the gap.
In a remark, the National Secretary of the party, Chief Labaran Maku stated that the problem of Nigeria today is hinged on political, tribal and religious intolerance which according to him, APGA as a movement of the people, has the capacity to correct.


He cited the Anambra example under Governor Obiano calling on other state Governors to emulate him for a better Nigeria.
The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and the Majority Leader of the state Assembly also harped on the importance of unity in making the party stronger and more acceptable to all regions.
