From the sports sector, a businessman, Femi Otedola has redeemed his
twenty-five thousand dollars per goal, pledge made to the Super Eagles
at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The billionaire had before the Eagles semi-final match against Algeria
promised to pay twenty-five thousand dollars per goal scored against
the North Africans.

Nigeria’s only goal was scored in the seventy-sixth minute by Odion
Ighalo as the Eagles lost to the North Africans via a late
RiyadMahrez’s free kick in added time of the encounter.

Eagles’ defender Kenneth Omeruo led a delegation that consisted of
team administrator Enebi Achor and equipment manager, Chidi Ngoka to
receive the pledge made on behalf of the team.

The NFF through its official Twitter handle made the information known
yesterday.
It would be recalled that Africa’s richest man, AlikoDangote also
promised the team the sum of fifty, thousand dollars per goal scored.
