Fifteen Postulants have been ordained Deacons in the Anglican Diocese of Awka, by the Bishop of Awka Diocese the Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim.

The Trinity Ordination which took place at the Anglican Church of the Pentecost attracted  Bishops, Priests, top government officials, communicants and well wishers.

While ordaining the Deacons, Right Reverend Ibezim who is the incoming
Archbishop of Niger Province, asked them to strengthen the faithful, search out the careless and  indifferent ones to preach the word of God in any  place they are deployed.


 Right Revered Ibezim, said they were called to serve the church of God and to work with its members in caring for the poor, the needy, the sick and all who are in trouble.

The Preacher and Retreatant, Right Reverend Jacob Bada of Etsako Diocese, charged the newly ordained to be focused and  carry out their responsibilities  diligently as well as eschew earthly quest for material wealth. 

Right Reverend Bada enjoined Christians   not to joke with the things of God
and Pastors in their families, urging them to support their Priests in achieving their callings.


Speaking shortly after the ordination, one of the newly ordained who is the husband of Amaka Obi of the ABS, Reverend Chukwukadibia Obi, on behalf of others said that God has fulfilled the mission for which he sent them to the world, stating that their ministries will be guided by the Holy  Spirit.

Welcoming, the incoming Archbishop on behalf of the Church Of Pentecost, Dr George Onwudiwe saw his recent emergence as Archbishop elect, Province of the Niger, as another another achievement  for the Diocese and expressed  the  hope  that the  new Ministers  will take up the task of
spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Priests took the oath of allegiance, Canonical Obedience, Submission and Oath against homosexuality.

The ordination featured cutting of fifty   seven   years birthday cake of Right Reverend Ibezim.
