Anambra State Government has restated its commitment to strengthening State’s Primary Healthcare Development Agency, while describing the health sector as one of the most important to the president
administration.

Governor Willie Obiano, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Nkem
Okeke stated this while receiving Executive Secretaries of State Primary Healthcare Development Agency at the Government House, Awka.

The Executive Secretaries were in the state for the 2019 Quarterly Review Meeting.

The Governor noted that primary healthcare was the first step in providing the needed aid in healthcare system, especially for people in rural areas with limited health facilities.

Governor Obiano emphasized that huge amount of funds had been channeled to developing the State’s Health Sector.

He, added that government made available adequate resources and
manpower, as well as renovation of primary healthcare facilities across Anambra State.

The Governor noted the recent commencement of Anambra Health Insurance Scheme as one of the greatest achievements of his administration, and
stressed the need to get more people into the scheme, while praying for sustainability of the scheme in the state.

He promised to improve the salary structure and welfare of Anambra
State health workers.

In a remark, the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Healthcare
Development Agency Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu noted that the just concluded
National Immunization plus Days in Anambra recorded a huge success.
