The State Head of Service Barrister Harry Udu says Anambra State-sponsored Creche is nearing completion.
The Crèche, located within the state Government Secretariat, according to Barrister Udu, would serve as a nursery for civil servants that are nursing mothers.

The Head Service explained to journalists at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka, that it had become necessary for them to keep their infants to be cared for while at work.
He said that the crèche was aimed at easing stress off civil servants and nursing mothers during work hours, especially during the long vacation adding that a little amount will be charged on each child kept in the Crèche.’
Barrister Udu noted that the little amount would help to re-stock consumables regularly for the upkeep of children as well as to maintain the environment.

He further disclosed that health personnel will be deployed from the Ministry of Health and healthcare agencies, while teachers for pre-nursery will come from Ministry of Education, stating that these personnel will be under the supervision of doctors and nurses from the clinic in the Secretariat, adding that adequate security will be provided also at the Crèche.

The HOS said that a circular would be passed to all ministries, departments and agencies in respect of who would be in charge of the crèche and cautioned all nursing mothers that come with their children to the office to ensure that they would not constitute nuisance in the office environment, especially during the ongoing long vacation.
