The efforts of the Anambra State Government in decongesting Roads and Markets across the State is yielding the desired results.
Staff Reporter Blessing Ijedibia who was at Ose Okwodu Market Onitsha yesterday observed free flow of traffic in virtually all the roads in the Market .
Ajasa, Emejulu , and old Market road now look orderly as traders in the Market are adhering strictly to the State government’s directive on street trading.
It was also observed that most traders have moved their wares from streets to stores which resulted to free vehicular movement.
ABS news crew met some officials of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra Ocha Brigade monitoring the compliance.
Commenting on the exercise the Head of Operations, Ocha Brigade for Anambra North, Mr Ndubisi Said the determination of the state government in ensuring free flow of traffic in markets must be met.
He said as most traders have adhered to the directive, hawkers and barrow pushers are yet to obey.
Some traders including Alhaji Haruna and Mrs Grace Okafor while appreciating the effort of the State government in cleaning and clearing the Market, pleaded to the State government to provide a space for them in the Market.
