Council Area recently held interdenominational prayer session at Obu Gad to seek the face of God.
Religion Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzo Okoye, was there and reports that the service attracted the clergy from all the churches in the community.
The traditional ruler of Enugwu Aguleri, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri and his cabinet Chiefs, top government officials, as well as sons and daughters of Aguleri, were fully on ground during the prayer session.
The prayers were conducted by all the priests and community leaders, including Okpala Aguleri, Ogbuanyinya Ekwealor Nneli.
Addressing the congregation, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Pentecostal Churches, Reverend Pastor Felix Ekeh, said the community took a bold step by seeking the face of the Lord, saying that it pays to serve the lord.
Pastor Ekeh pointed out that some of the developed countries are successful because they made God the foundation of all they do.
The traditional ruler of Enugwu Aguleri, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri thanked God for the gift of life upon his people, reasoning that Aguleri as the descendants of Gad and home town of Blessed Iwene Tansi and Governor Willie Obiano, they would continue to champion peace and harmonious co- existence within the neighborhood.
Earlier in a sermon, Reverend Ignatius Obalum who spoke on “what do people say you are” challenged all to live righteously and pray for the community every morning.
In their separate speeches, the President General Aguleri Town Union, Barrister Hipolite Onwuegbuke, the President, Aguleri National Youth Association Chief Nnamdi Ikeli and Chairman, Aguleri World Forum, Mr Pius Machie beckoned on the youths to stop abusing drugs, especially Indian hemp, warning that anyone caught will be made to face the law.
The interdenominational prayer witnessed thanksgiving sessions, dances, and solemn moments.
