A philanthropist, and Chairman of Nzenwofor Group, Chief Ndubuisi
Nzenwofor, has unfolded his plans of empowering one thousand youths
across the country to become millionaires on yearly basis, out of
their own talents and craft.

Chief Nzenwofor disclosed this on the occasion of LACLIC Golden Heroes
Award Night held at Sheraton Hotels, Abuja.

Correspondent Valentine Mbadugha was there for the ABS and reports that Chief Nzenwofor, who hails from Nnokwa in Idemili South Local
Government Area of Anambra state, said Nigerian youths are the real
force to reckon with, adding that it is time to take advantage of
their population, energy and strength in driving  the nation’s
economy.

According to him, the initiative will be spread across the six
geopolitical zones of the country but will begin with Anambra as his
home state.

Chief Nzenwofor who is the sole sponsor of LACLIC Golden Heroes Award
further expressed his passion to ensure that the youth, women, and
children as well as the indigent ones are well taken care of through
charity and sponsorship of youth empowerment programs.

The young entrepreneur and philanthropist used the occasion to honour
the designer of the Nigeria flag, PA Taiwo Akinkunmi, by adopting him
as an ambassador of Golden Heroes Award  with a life monthly salary of
five hundred thousand naira which took effect from June this year.

President Muhammadu Buhari represented by the former deputy governor
of Plateau state, and Minister designate, Mrs. Pauline Tallen,
received an award of recognition which, Chief Nzenwofor said was aimed
at encouraging him to give every stakeholder equal opportunity in the
Nigerian project.

The President assured of a better playing ground for everyone  and 
called for the support of all stakeholders for an improved society.

In a key note address, Mr. Markus Singleton while commending the
convener of the event noted that Nigeria will be a great nation which
the world cannot do without if other well meaning Nigerians can
emulate such level of patriotism exhibited by Chief Nzenwofor.

Some of the awardees including the Assistant Commissioner of Police,
Complaint Response Unit (CRU), Force Headquarters, Abuja, ACP Markus
Basiran, Mr. Ramsey Noah of Nollywood and his Kannywood counterpart,
Mr Ali Nuhu, and Oluwa Tobi Ajayi, appreciated the convener of the
event, noting that Nigeria is at cross roads.

The BOT Vice Chairperson, Military Widows Association, Dr Aisha Lemu
extoled Chief Nzenwofor for his support to military widows,
praying for God’s blessings upon his life.

On their parts, the winner of the Face of LACLIC Golden Heroes Award,
Miss Ochibo Helen who received a brand new car, and the captain of
Star Boys Football Club Abuja, Mr. Joshua Kelechi who lifted the
golden cup of the football competition with a cash price of one
million naira, expressed their happiness for the rare opportunity
given to them to showcase their talents.

Other competitions organized to mark the maiden edition of the LACLIC
Golden Heroes Award, 2019, include marathon race, make up, hair
styling and barbing competitions, of which the winners of each of the
competitions received a cheque for five hundred thousand naira while
the first and second runners up received three hundred and two hundred
thousand naira respectively.

An application known as “Olanga Chat App” which tends to provide
solution to language barrier confronting social media was also
launched during the event.
